3.0 D4D O2 Sensors & Fuel Management

Post by Rogonearth »

:cooldude: Greetings All.
I'm pretty sure amongst the members on this group Toyota could get schooled on a few points.
I've been trying to get absolute clarity with regards to how my 2012 Hilux fuel system works with regards to MAF and the O2 sensors especially with feedback from exhaust. I can't find any O2 sensor on the exhaust it's self but suspect I've located one on the manifold very close to engine. Is there only this one O2 sensor and nothing 'down stream'? I'm I correct in saying that the sensor near manifold if detects rich O2 in exhaust fumes will increase diesel injection? I'm basically looking for a fundi to explain as best they can in layman's terms how it all works. Thanks guys.
