Kz te

Post by Stuart M »

I’ve got a 2005 KZ TE and find lm getting excessive heat of the gearbox. Mostly when driving at speed. So bad that I drape a heavy towel at the side of the box. Oil levels good and I replaced the braided exhaust pipe that runs close to the box

I would suggest that you fit a EGT gauge as it may be excessive EGT temp.

300 sounds low. Would expect them to be around 500 - 600 pre-turbo....

Have you done any oil changes lately on the gearbox?

My next step to change the oil in the box and see if I can fit a heat shield
