5L Motor Welch Plugs

Post by Holster »

Hi
I have a 1998 LN167 with the 5L motor, soon to have 2 of them. The second one needs Welch Plugs replaced.
1. Where is your best place to source parts? I've googled for welch plugs for the LN167 and not having much luck. Do the Toyota dealers still supply parts for these engines?
2. What else should I do while the motor is out?

TIA

Hi and welcome Paul!

Welsh plugs are normally not agents only spares, and they normally are standard sizes. You should be able to source them from the bigger automotive spares outlets. Otherwise you try bolt & nut suppliers, they often carry other bits and bobs.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Thanks Mud Dog, that got me on the right track.

Had to ring a few engine and parts suppliers and these guys gave the best and easiest service and obviously know their stuff.
If you're in Brisbane and after engine parts try
Engines Australia
Unit 3 / 658 Beaudesert Rd, Rocklea, QLD, Australia
https://www.engineaustralia.com.au/branch/brisbane/

I have no association with them other than being a satisfied customer. Hope that's OK to give them a plug (no pun intended).

Cheers

Good to hear!

We're in RSA, and vet far from OZ. :D: I have a B.I.L. that lives in Brizzy though. Can pass the referral on to him. :winkx:
