Ln106 rough drive in 4wd
Gidday just thought I'd post up on here before I went to the shop everytime i engage the truck into 4wd 1994 toyota hilux ln106 it just seems to drive extremely rough like its bucking back almost hoping it's not gonna cost an arm and a leg cheers

Hi and welcome Billy!
Front drive shaft needs to be checked and serviced, could be worn. Check for any side-way lash on the slip-joint (anything more than 4 or 5 mm is excessive). Check the universal joints for play (there should be none). Check the front diff pinion shaft for any lateral play (there should be none).
If all those check out OK, have the shaft balanced and checked that it is not bent.
The slip-joints and universals on both front and back shafts should be greased regularly - there are grease nipples on all of them (the double cardan universals have two, one for each side).

Mine does that too, but only in 4 low in reverse. I'm guessing clutch and just try not to reverse in this mode.
