Today I put in new rear wheel bearings left and right. Oil seals were leaking which was the reason to pull things apart. Tapping the new seals in place I would use a short pipe of the right diameter. But I did not have material of the right size.
Instead I used large size fender washers M20 which I had laying around. Outside diameter is 71 mm and plate thickness is 5 mm. The oil seal diameter is 70 mm. My tool did work really well.
Also I welded up a bearing removal tool. The wheel bearing installer is just some pipe 1 1/4.
