3.0 d4d limp mode

Post by Chatelle17 »

Hi guys, hope you are well.
I've got a 2006 Hilux 3.0 D-4D 4x4.
It keeps going in limp mode when Im going over 140km/h (from 0 to 140km/h it runs good )and sometime when im overtaking, when the engine has been running for 40km + i need to switch off the engine for about 1min before it runs again, otherwise a simole off on, and it goes again
Ive done the following already and still keeps on going in limp mode :
Replaced the previous chip (which made it MUCH better as it was going in limp while driving in town at 30 -80Km/h ),
Ive replaced the following aswell : MAF sensor, turbo actuator/stepper motor, cleaned the EGR and throttle body, cleaned the intake, insuring flaps are working.
Disconnected the new chip, and still limp mode.
The engine also has a loudish grrrrrrrrrrr when going over 100, almost sound like a manifold leaking, but no leaks

Please help

Hi,

Perhaps time to have a diagnostic check?

You will have to read the error code to see what's causing the limp mode.

The cable is very cheap

You can also find the required software on the Internet.

Just search for Toyota Techstream

Drive with a laptop and the cable plugged it
It will show you what's going on

Check all vacuum lines first for leaks .... cracks or perishing. :winkx:
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
