D4D. Limp Mode. Fuel Leak

Post by Mikehill »

My 2009 Hilux D4D goes into limp mode. Computer indicates fuel leak. No visual leaks detected. Replaces fuel filter and 0 ring. still does it. Normaly happens if driven at low revs. Any advice ?

have you checked at the injectors?

Also, are you running a chip? If so, try without it

Afair it is something on the fuel rail. Will check in the morning, if I remember.

Fuel leak or large fuel dump?

I had the "large fuel dump" error. It used to go into limp mode 4 - 5 times in short succession just during normal driving, at the most inopportune times. Had the injectors checked, tested and whatever, the car spent 3 days at Udel. They could not identify any problems with the injectors.

In the end it turned out to be the Racechip that was in the vehicle. removed it, and cleaned the contacts where the electronics plugs into the fuel rail and Bob became my auntie's spouse.
