Goeiedag mede luxers. Soek bietjie raad.

Re: Engine gaar?

Hi Werner
My Afrikaans is not very good so I’m going to do this in English.
Firstly if I see correctly, the tappet cover is bent inwards. Too much pressure in the engine will push the cover outwards. So I don’t think that’s the cause.
You can try to remove the valve and check if it has the same problem to narrow the fault.
It is not a fool proof way, however remove the PCV valve. Shake it, it should make a noise as the valve inside moves. Pour degreaser inside the valve and blow through the hole in the centre of the valve with compressed air to clean it. Use plenty of degreaser.
As I stated it is not a fool proof way so you may need to get a new valve. Those valves are meant to be changed at intervals though, due to clogging, which the manual, nor mechanics will tell you.
Also make sure you are using the correct grade engine oil as it will burn oil if the oil is thinner than the required spec.
Try Gemini Parts - 011 025 8224. They are in Marshalltown, Johannesburg and reasonably priced with good quality spares.
Well that’s all that comes to my mind right know.

Re: Engine gaar?

As daar egter ' taamlike olie agtige rookerigheid uitkom het jy ' n enjin probleem.
