Good Day All
I am hoping for some assistance.
I have a 2005 Hilux Vigo 2.7VVTI 2TR-FE and I am experiencing an unusual problem.
Best I can explain it as is fuel starvation / misfire under higher load conditions.
I have scanned the vehicle with a Launch and Techstream using a chinese cable bought on bid or buy.
Both with the same result. No faults, no errors.
Initially I thought it could be a dying fuel pump as I have read about some fuel pump failures on the V6.
After replacing the fuel pump my problem has not gone away.
Vehicle has 330 000km on the ODO and fresh filters and service parts from Toyota.
More Detail about the issue.
Under higher load it would start suffering what feels like a "soft rev limiter"
It also changes in every gear somewhat.
3rd : 4800 rpm
4th : 4300 rpm
5th: +- 3800 rpm
This results in the vehicle unable to maintain 120kmp/h on the highway going up slight inclines.
Any advise would be appreciated. before I throw more money at replacing random parts.
Regards and Thanks

Hi Gielie
Have jou checked the actual fuel pressure? A bad fuel pressure regulator can cause that. Does your vehicle have a airflow meter?
