Mechanic required in Gauteng

Post by Bear »

Hi Guys. There was a previous post where I asked if anyone knows of a good mechanic in Gauteng and there was no reply.
Hopefully I gets responses this time around.
I found on face book a guy called Jaco, “Living SFA” whom I contacted to repair the wheel bearings and all seals on the front diff on my Raider. He advised I need to leave the vehicle with him for about 3 days as it is a big job to clean everything and repair. I heard of guys doing this repair in a few hours. Does anyone on the forum know him and can vouch for him as being honest, reliable and to do a good job?

Jaco and his father do a great job - perfection takes longer. Have a squiz through the Living SFA faceboet page and you will see their passion.

A third of the way down the first page of this link will give you an idea what is required to do the job:

Hi Tim. thanks for the reply. I have been through the Facebook page, which is how I found them. I am familiar with the process of repairing the diff and I know some guys do it in a few hours to renew bearings and seals. With someone specialising in SAF’s, I would think it should take even less time to do. As you say “perfection takes longer”, not that long though.
Toyota does it in 8 hours. Their labour charge is ridiculous and they use general purpose grease which I do not like.
I have no problem giving it to Jaco to do, I just wanted to know if anyone can vouch for them – provide a good reference as to their honesty and integrity. Someone may have used them before or know them personally, as they want my vehicle for three days.

One need about a good 8 hours straight to do both sides. Stripping, Cleaning.

Then inspect the parts and replace the parts. Please note you going to need some specific tools to do the work.

Done a few myself. Its dirty work, but worth it.

Ricky you can believe what Louis said. He is well known to this forum and do many overalls on front SFA diffs mine include.
His work speaks for themselves.

On the other hand you can trust Jaco and his father Henk with your vehicle. It is in good hands. They also do excellent work and do not take any short cuts. You can be sure that the parts they used are of high quality. They do not use cheap pirate parts. Why not joining us on the SFA LEGEND forum ? There you will see the quality of work been done by Henk and Jaco.
