Extended Cab Backrest removal

Post by Ronwob »

Hi Everybody,

I need some advice.
In my 2014 Hilux Extra cab, behind the front seats is an area with two compartments. Above this is a padded backrest. Is it possible to remove it without too much hassle?
I am planning to Install my National Luna Twin in that space but need some extra depth. Removal of that padded board will give me the extra cm required.
Any advice will be appreciated.

DO NOT KNOW
But if I could guess, you would need to push it up from the bottom and it May unclip and come out from there...

Just remove the "plasric" cover below the back window, there are two bolts, unbolt and lift the whole "padded bord"

Thanks Rood, I removed the panel as you said but had to put it back again. There is nothing behind it and looks awful.

Hi Ronnie, how did you remove the plastic cover below the window - I've got the dakar version and would like to get the padded backrest fitted with leather?

Much appreciated.
