Swartvark Needs a Rear DIFF.......SORTED!

Hi Guys

Weird how one can make a mistake with regards to the origin of sounds from your vehicle.

What sounded to me like a front propshaft/universal/bearing or Something noise ended up being the rear Diff.

Swartvark has the import diff at the moment and I know these parts are scarce.

Diff lock diff is now an option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ouch Jaaa.......I just spoke to a Gerhard from Wellington. He advertises on Gumtree...........Might this be the same bussiness?

He will phone me back later.

He recommended that I go for a 3.9 ratio??

I'm currently running at 3200rpm at 120km/h with my 4.875 ratio.

You'll also have to change the front diff if you change ratios.

Just fit 40's.........they'll look cool too.

Die ou L/C 79 se voorste diff is dieselfde as die Import diff van die SFA se agter diff. Net ratios verskil.

doen jouself n guns en kry vir jou die vigo shape se centre portion maar die 2.7 sn hy is n 4.1 ratio daai gaan soos n droom werk vir jou en hy is ook baie sterker en het ook diflock hier by ons in pretoria het ek begin van die jaar twee centre portions gekoop vir 8500 en die ouens het nog baie maar moet nie vir die d4d een gaan nie hulle is sommer dubbel die prys.

Waar het jy die Centre Portions gekoop?
Ek sal graag wil kyk hoeveel duurder dit sal uitwerk om hierdie conversion te doen en natuurlik my voor diff ratio ook aan te pas......

Okay.....It seems like this is my options:

Recon my import diff: R4500.00

OR

Replace rear diff Centre with Vigo 4.55 ratio with diff lock: R8500.00
Change front diff ratio to 4.55: R4500.00

Allan Hoppy found me a Local Difflock diff that is kinda in my budget. Bonus.

So Swartvark will be doing Donuts again by next week.
