It is in the middle of the bench seat. So follow the center console, to the rear, and you will see a little loop (should have a longer loop with a hook attached to it. You pull this and the bottom bench will come loose and can fold back 90 degrees. You can then hook the longer loop to the back to keep it in that position.

Not sure if it's any different on your later model, but on the old models the lower rear seat is secured rigidly and does not move forward. Wheel spanner, jack and jack handle are normally secured against the rear firewall - some jack handles were incorporated into a tool-roll and the crank rod to lower the spare is usually clipped against the rear firewall.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Once you have lifted the bench seat, there are two flaps, wheel spanners and jack inside these boxes under the bench and not at the back behind the upright seat...

And if those two boxes are empty you have no jack and wheel spanner...

That is correct your jack and tools should be in the one box under the seat.JamesC wrote:And if those two boxes are empty you have no jack and wheel spanner...
The seat cannot fold forward like the older models. It is possible with a modification, you can search on the this forum for detail.

You pull that release lever - there should be a strap attached to it that you pull and then you lift up the seat. It hinges up from the front. The tools and jack are located in two bins underneath the passenger seat. They are covered with carpeted covers and clearly visible. The rear backrest does not unhook and hinge forward unless you modify it somewhat. There is a thread on that in this forum. Just do a search.
