Alarm system - DIY or not to DIY

Post by Kaspaas »

Guys,

This is my plan:
-Do the alarm myself, make sure its done properly, wire soldering ect ect.
-Take it for a Tracker and immobiliser, check it afterwards for soldering, wire trunking ect ect.
-Do the "Forum Anti Theft" instalment. :shh:
-Inform my insurance, get cheaper insurance (if I'm lucky)

Now,
If I'm not DIY'ing myself , does anybody know a place in CT that's trustworthy enough to do a good job (Alarm & immobiliser)?
I'm not the easiest of customers when it comes to electrical instalments on my Hilux. :aggresive:

If I do DIY myself, where/what kind of after marker alarm and immobiliser do I search for?
Can the products on Ebay be trusted?

Any inputs welcome!

I think the issue/problem is that you are not supposed to know where the unit is installed........................how are you going to check the wiring?

Are you referring to the Tracker?
Of course I accept that, I was referring to the immobiliser and alarm instalment.
Surely I'll be able to check the routing and connections of the wiring, if it wasn't for the fact the I need the damn "certified installer document" for the insurance I would do everything myself, except the Tracker of course.
