How to Get 1uzfe to start first time

Post by pampoen »

So just wondering if you 1uz guys have had this problem. Regardless of whether my vehicle is hot or cold, i takes at least 4 or 5 turns to start. It's not bad, but i would like it to start first time like all the other Toyota's ive had. Do i need to connect the idle control valve up to the Spitronics? Anyway, help would be much appreciated.

Just a stupid question, i have the idle control, just not the idle control plug. Could i make one up? And can someone tell me where to plug into in the ECU, im using the Spitronics Venus ECU with EMU computer for autobox. I do have the spitronics wiring diagrams but unsure which one to use. Any help would be much appreciated.

Nice truck!!

Is that a ex-forum member's Lux?

I did a total rebuilt of my 7M two years back, and I'm more pleased than ever.
In hind sight I could have done a 1UZ conversion for way less moola, (to rebuild a 7M back to standard is m#@r expensive!)

Searched for 6 months to find a crank that has not been cut for example.
(PS: @ R1100 per piston from Toyota is crazy! :blackeye: )

Enjoy the V8, glad to have a old face back!!
