The last pic is of the engines radiator, got a leak and is way past it's time to be replace, long grass and river crossing results in this, seed nets are always a must, and I am guilty of not always using it.

Why not taking it to Silverton Radiators. They are not that expensive and will clean your radiator properly and fix leak as well. You also get a warranty for work done.

I use a high pressure cleaner to blast spray the dirt out of the radiator. I spray it from the engine side out. But because there is a leak I agree let them clean and fix the radiator.

Agree that high pressure can bend the fins which would be more of a problem than the dirt. This happens easier as the radiator gets old and the fins get thinner from corrosion. Just use a garden hose from the inside out (not concentrated spray), or compressed air dialled down to a lower pressure. Piet's gas burner idea should also work to make it easier, but personally I would avoid that - just be very careful with the flame if you do it (wiring looms, plastic components etc.). ;-)

I Agree with vlak vark. as what they do with repairs is actually just block off the damaged sections and off you go.

So in effect everytime you repair you are making your radiator smaller.

Spend the money and get a new one. Thunder02 deserves it (especially the way you treat him   )

That "IT" refers to the radiator and not Thunder02

I opted for the new aluminium radiator instead of fixing the old one.

Hoppy gave me both options but suggested the new one for peace of mind.
