Re: 7mge conversion
Hmmm, both auto boxes' I've had on the Lex's were 341e's. AFAIK they're almost identical to the 340. At first glance its only the 1st gear ration that differs.
The 340 has a 1st ratio of 2.531 and the 340 a 1st ratio of 2.804.
My guess would be that their bellhousing patterns are identical too...

What do you mean I will be able to bolt a Lex autobox onto the 7M then?Spartan wrote:Net aan die engine kantToybox wrote:My guess would be that their bellhousing patterns are identical too...

Julle het nie dalk 'n autobox vir die 7M wat daar rondlê wat julle hierdie kant toe wil gooi nie?

Re: 7mge conversion
Bennie that would be my guess.
You'd just have to look into the ratio in first and see if its suitable for the 7m. Also, you of course have to go with the transfer adapter or Prado transfer...

Re: 7mge conversion
I have done this conversion over 5 years ago with varsity fees. Keep to the manual gearbox you have in there. Get a bell housing to fit and dont buy these cheap nasties. If you cant get an orriginal get one from Toyota or you will be sorry. I am running an aftermarket ecu (Dictator). Apparantly if you have the cressida ecu and airflow meter you will get a better fuel consumption. Check with other guys who have the standard ecu. I get 5.5 - 6km/l and I think they get over 7. I also think the 7m from the supra has more torque because of the length of the inlet manifold. Great conversion and good luck. If you need any questions answered let me know.
