New guy with possible injector pump issue

Post by Jarvie 93luxy »

Gday people,
I’m jarvie from the land down under. First of all thanks for having me here 😊 I have gotten a bit of help from this forum before, but now the time has come to join the crew, because I now have an issue with my 93 ln106 luxy with turbo of a surf bolted on. Now I’m pretty sure I’m onto the problem (it’s only little atm) but on start up and the luxy is face down hill I get a puff to below of white smoke. The smoke smell like desiel so I’m thinking that my injector pump is on it way out, or it needs a new o’ring or more. Please to give me your thoughts on this, they would be most appreciated.
Cheers people

Possibly the injectors are becoming worn/faulty. I'm not sure if they can be rebuilt, or if you have to buy new in Aus.
Happy trails

Howdy Mate,

Welcome to the forum.

Lets start with what engine are in you Lux? 2L with a turbo bolted on? Or a 2LT?

I guess it could be a worn seal or the like, maybe even a valve stem seal?

Please share more info on your vehicle?

I would first use injector cleaner two times in a row to see if it is not simply dirty injectors. Then one would need to look at an injector rebuild or possibly a diesel pump overhaul. Start with the simple issues first.
