Introducing - The Wolf

Post by Rebel 4x4 »

I've taken ownership Thursday of my new Amarok.... After 7 months and 4 days of waiting, I could take her home!

Initially I ordered the 2.0 TSi, but conflicts between Argentina and the UK, my 1st order still sits at the harbour. Argentina won't allow any UK vessels in their harbour because of fighting of the Falkland Islands.

At least the factory helped me out when someone cancelled a vehicle, not a petrol, but a diesel. I wasn't fond of the idea, but after driving it...Well, i must apologise for ripping all the diesel owners off..... Because i'm hooked!!!! i won't drive/buy anything else!!! So here's some pictures of the van....The colour is "starlight blue" This is a 4x2 with diff lock, extras added like climatic aircon, MP3 player with USB, extra Airbag, Off road ABS and ASR...

Extras VERY soon to be added:
1. Alluminium Canopy
2. Rubberizing
3. Front replacement bumper
4. Lift Kit
5. Alloy Wheels
6. AT Tyres

Thanks guys, it will be used as a camping vehicle. My first choice would still be a Toyota.... But eish, currently a bit pricey...Will see what happens in the future...

Just an update on The Wolf............

rubberizing was done last week, and to keep the rubberizing fresh, my ally canopy was completed last week as well and was fitted today.....
Will open a thread under "good service" for the company that manufactured the canopy! Well done Willie and Deon from Cerafix Engineering!

The "to do list" still have the following left:

1. Alluminium Canopy - DONE
2. Rubberizing - DONE

3. Front replacement bumper
4. Lift Kit
5. Alloy Wheels (Will be next on the list..... Someone got Transporter/T5 Kombi mags they want to auction off???)
6. AT Tyres

Agree with George about the second bumper. What was the difference in price between the Lux & the VW ?

Its quite difficult to say if you consider the extras I've added. Believe it or not, but I've considered the Navara as well. The Toyota was top on my list, but age-ing technology, new model due mid 2013, I didn't want to be left behind.

After completing the KKNK road trip, I was impressed with the fuel consumption and power. Bare in mind....its only a 90kW, now imagine how the 120kW must drive!

BTM got some offroad bumpers for ALL makes..... At R10500 excl its really cheaper than the ARB and TJM starting at R16000
