Post by Johannh »

I picked up a rumour that the Amarok has temporary withdrawn - any comments?

AFAIK there is a Recall out on the VW Amarok with some problems on them. I haven't been to VW to confirm this yet....

Maybe Swartvark can update us here seeing that he sells VW's....

Interior is getting a rework, sorting out gaps, rattles etc. Nothing serious. Engine and electronic system untouched.

Remember, its built in Argentina....

I've been told that a batch is on "hold" to double check certain minor things. :eh:

There was no "recalls" that I am aware of.

Hi

There's an article in the latest Car magazine where they have the Amarok vs the Hilux, it's an intersting read, and for me was a confirmation of something I had already known. Toyota is King, :dance1:

I wondered what the result / outcome of the test was. Saw the heading on the front page. I tend not to buy the magazine. I used to have a collection of these magazines (15 years copies worth) and then it downed on me that their test teams are not unbiased and they usually biased towards German brands.

Ons gaan nou heel off topic.

It is interesting to hear the different views about bias etc.

I always felt that if there was any bias at car it was IN FAVOUR of Toyota. A friend in the industry once mentioed to me that Toyota had apparently incinuated that if they got a "bad" review they would not provide the magazine with test vehicles again and given the size of Toyota in RSA they did what they were told and in fact "softened" any "bad" Toyota review

but as I say this was just "heresay" and may have no truth in it at all.
