Land Cruiser 1989

Post by farazharoon »

Hello I have been given the job of maintaining a Land Cruiser 1989 model with a diesel 2H engine.
It has a manual transmission. Anybody know how I can find out what kind of transmission/gearbox I have, I mean the name of it, like is it a W or F etc. I want to look up the ratios on it. Anybody have idea about part number of transmission/gearbox number for this model?

Take your VIN number and go to http://www.toyodiy.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Type in the vin number and you will get all the info you need.

Manual download at http://the-manuals.com/hj60-manual/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The 2H is a 4.0 L (3980 cc) inline 6, 12 valve OHV diesel engine. Bore is 91 mm and stroke is 102 mm, with a compression ratio of 20.7:1. Output is 103 hp (77 kW) at 3500 rpm - later production years 107 hp (80 kW) with 177 ft·lbf (240 N·m) of torque at 2000 rpm.

Applications

Thanks so much for your help.
Where did you get the gear ratios from? Is that from toyodiy as well?

I want to compare the gear ratios of the land cruiser and 2005 vigo.

You are a complete star man! :clap:
I've been googling this stuff but can't seem to find it especially for the Land Cruiser.
Thanks so much for your help.

Do you think I can get this kind of information for newer Toyota too like the Toyota Surf 2004 model? Do I need the frame number of the Surf?
How about Toyota Prado (90 series) 2001 model.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS INFORMATION!!!! So helpful! :thumbup:
