Re: Late night/early morning crew
Andy that mod works great for the forum, but messes a little with the loading/reloading of other content... so I've disabled it for now!
But if it works for you... great!
Hog... 2 fingers... but how quickly can you move them?

When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

both as we go along!!
have been thinking, maybe the current stand will take the lexus weight for a while, giving me time to take things a little easier!!!
if it took the Ford V6, it should take the Lexus, the Ford V6s are all cast iron, where as the Lexus is all aluminium!!
as for the custom stand, would like to build it in such a way, that I could start a motor while on that custom stand, once I'm done, will help my friend who is doing the Mussso Lexus conversion, and will see as we go along who else will need help!!

Re: Late night/early morning crew
Your stand should be fine if it holds the Ford V6 .... The Lexus V8 only weighs a little more than the standard 4Y.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Re: Late night/early morning crew
thanx Andy!!
when looking for the stainless welding rods today, saw a engine stand that is rated at 1000lb
as me have the terrible habit of steeling with my eyes so I did again!! hehehe!!
and the difference, between my engine stand and the one in the shop, is a small piece of square tube, that helps support the weight!!
well out comes the welder again and will do that soon as well!!
will post pics of that one, when done!! thatnx again Andy!!

Re: Late night/early morning crew
It was not my intention to join this crew, but...........
Just before one, I woke with the dogs barking, which my dogs seldom do, plus the pitiful cry of something else. Stark naked I grabbed a torch and rushed out to investigate.
Somehow a young duiker had go into the garden. I got the dogs away and locked them in the courtyard. The duiker looks uninjured, but it will now have to wait for morning to see, or do more.
So now I’ve had a cup of coffee, told the dogs if I hear as much as a yelp from them they will be in serious trouble. So they are both lying under the courtyard sink looking suitably contrite. The duiker is somewhere in a bed of flowers getting its heart beat back to normal, hopefully no other injuries, – morning will tell.
So, I am wide-awake and decided to join this exclusive club.

Full membership accepted! So, I am wide-awake and decided to join this exclusive club.
Hope the duiker is OK to be released in the morning. They are fretful little creatures, but can become quite tame, especially if injured and nursed. Rehabilitation then becomes problematic (exposing them to contact with less friendly humans and more vicious dogs) and they are better off released in a game park. Hope your little 'visitor' will be able to go on it's way in the morning.

Re: Late night/early morning crew
The duiker is OK bar for scuffmarks on its face where it ran into the fence.
Don't know what I'm going to do? It is very nervous and tries desperately to get through the fence.
Best time to catch it would be at night by blinding it with a torch then throwing a blanket over it, however I am reluctant to do this on my own as it could kick me to bits if the catch goes badly.
Think I'll just leave it for awhile to calm down. It is in a section of the garden that has a fence around it, approx 150 sq.m, which has plenty of cover, grass, and shrubs, but with one small access gate right next to where the dogs sleep.
Plan to spend sometime in the area talking to it, hopefully it will get used to me.
It’s a mystery how it got in as the whole yard has a bonnox fence and electrical fence around it. Only possibility is that yesterday we left the main electrical gate open and it must have wondered in from the surrounding plantations.

Re: Late night/early morning crew
Put the dogs away entirely, switch off the fence electrification, open the gates and gently herd it out of the yard. It will take yonks to try calm it by standing about talking to it. Less stressful to get it out of the yard quickly ... their systems can handle short periods of extreme stress, but prolonged exposure can put them into shock.
