2007 Hilux rear diff lock not engaging

Post by ChrisJoe »

Hi everyone, does anyone know where to look if the rear diff lock on my 2007 D4D Hilux is not engaging, the indicator light in the cluster is illuminating when I depress the diff lock switch, but the diff lock does not operate.
I have had a diagnostic done, but the diff lock circuit does not feature.
Any assistance would be most welcome.
Regards.
Chris Joe.

Hi Chris I had the same situation with my hilux kzte, after many hours I eventually pulled the electric motor off the diff. The internals of the motor were badly corroded and I ended up replacing the unit.
