TOYOTA SA TWEAKS HILUX SRX, FORTUNER DERIVATIVES

Post by Niel »

Toyota South Africa Motors has announced a sprinkling of changes to its SRX grade Hilux models, as well as to various Fortuner derivatives.

The local arm of the Japanese automaker revealed the changes at the SA Festival of Motoring this week.

Toyota SA said that, based on “customer feedback”, it planned to implement these changes to the SRX grade model of the popular bakkie in order to “bring it more in line with lifestyle buyers’ needs”.

The key change for the SRX grade Hilux is the move to a wide-body construction, complete with integrated over-fenders as utilised by the current Raider grade. This change also includes the fitment of 17-inch alloys shod with 265/55 rubber.

The 2,8 GD-6 and V6 models in the Hilux-based Fortuner range, meanwhile, will be upgraded to 18-inch alloy wheels with a dual-profile machined finish.

Toyota says the revised Hilux SRX models will become available locally in the final quarter of this year, with the tweaked Fortuner derivatives sharing this “targeted release date”.

Gaan daai 18'' wiele dit kan maak tot op Sandton P&P se sypaaidjie ....

Like so many other brands these changes are aimed at the city dweller, moving further and further away from what the hardcore trail or sand driving requires ...

So by the end of the year, if you have the current 2017 model), you will be driving a new shape "old" 2017 model. While they at it, please change the ugly Hilux rear bumper.
