Not quite a trip report, but here are a few photo's.

The solar panel in the background, getting ALL the day's sun:

The most amazing discovery made this weekend!

The bike rack makes a perfect panel stand! I moved the panel 3 times a day, following the sun's rays.
I connected 1 battery to the panel, and the fridge and a few lights ran off the single battery. The battery was always fully charged by evening. Worked well!!

Oh, and we enjoyed swimming in the rock pools...

Two peekchaz from our very tame camping site. Not much to report upon. Camp was setup and I was sitting watching the see and having a cold whiskey within 7minutes of pulling onto the site.

Chris, ek het die paneel by BushPower.co.za gekry.
Dis 90W en werk baie goed... solank jy dit nie "toets" nie... :evil:

My toets het sleg afgeloop... maar dit is omdat die paneel in die skaduwee was vir die meeste van die dag.

Goed dis weer langnaweek / vakansie tyd, wie gaan waar wees?

Ek sou Transkei Eco Trail gedoen het maar toe koop ons huis en nou is ek ernstig besig om te trek

, so die enigste troos gaan wees om te weet daar is menigte Hilux4x4 manne reg oor die land besig om "goeie tye" te hê.

My ouers is oppad Kgalagadi toe, pelle in die Caprivi (Dan the Man) eish

Eld sonder selfoon, dit kan net dalk lekker raak ..... :)

Oh ja - kinda waiting to see how my wife takes to this whole camping idea...

I always went with the absolute basics when I went camping - a tiiiny 2 man tent, a sleeping bag, a cooler box, a wors grid and a roll of toilet paper

Now (for just 2 adults and 2 laaities) it's two 5-man tents, a gazebo, a fridge, 2 skottel braai's, a charcoal braai, 6 chairs, 2 tables, a mini oven/stove thing, air beds, camping lights for Africa.... The list goes on...

I need a trailer :problem:

Hmmm.... my boss wants to do a trail with his new jeep...so we are still deciding whether it will be Berakah or Heidelberg..... my other collegue wants t ogo to Berakah....but I do not think it is suitable for a total novice......

Daar is nie n manier wat ek ooit weer Basslake toe gaan nie....dit is pragtig daar en dit is n oulike beginners trail.....

maar...
1. die ou is buitensporig duur...
2. die einenaar is vreeslik ongeskik.....

Wife and I completed 10 days in the Northern Cape, Kuruman, Kakamas, Riemvasmaak...great road to Blouputs from there, Augrabies and then onto the Namakwa 4x4 route. Took it slow, 4 days. I think it is a great trail.
When we finish that we thought that Cape Town was just a little bit further than Gauteng from Springbok so we went to say hello to my son....
Schwampy went like dream, a bit heavy on juice because of all the stuff on the roof but didn't miss a beat.
