Bennie involved in accident
Guys, I've just recieved some distressing news from Cassie (stuck in traffic). He was informed by Charmaine (Charming), Bennie's wife, that Bennie was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident and that he is lying in hospital. Cassie was unable to elaborate on Bennie's condition since the details are still sketchy.
The reason for the call was for me to post this on the forum, since as most of you are aware, Bennie and Charmaine are deeply religious people and she is asking that we pray for Bennie.
I thank you all on their behalf and I'm sure that Cassie will update on Ben's condition as soon as he has more info.

Re: Bennie
Got some more information. Evidently a guy in a Merc cut him off as he was taking the exit on the highway about 4km from his house. It was raining at the time and as Bennie tried to avoid the accident he lost control of the Pajero and rolled it totalling it. He is in the x-ray department at the moment as he is complaining from lots of pain in his right shoulder and neck. I will try and keep you posted as the news comes in.

Re: Bennie involved in accident
Thanks Guys, just got home after being discharged, they booked me of for a week.
I sustained a serious backlash and soft tissue bruising in my neck, the safety belt brused my shoulder and my left and femur took a serious knock and I will not be able to walk normally for a few days. Other then that, stitches to my arm, shin and the back of my head as well as one spot where the skin is missing for about 2 cm by 1cm.
But I thank the Heavenly Father for keeping my intact and safe to continue with my task as Husband and Dad to my family. ;)

Re: Bennie involved in accident

OUCH!!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Bennie is in baie pyn maar klink darem positief. Hy het wel slegte nuus gekry vandag. Werwel C7 is gebreek.

Re: Bennie involved in accident
That's not good news, but it could have been a lot worse. Take it easy during your lay-off period and don't do anything stoopid. All the best with the recovery.

Re: Bennie involved in accident
Thanks for all the messages, calls, sms etc.
Ja I now have to be still for 6 weeks wearing a hard brace on my neck.
C7 the last neck vertebrae before the torso starts is fractures and the ligaments connected to it is torn with blood in between them. The daytime radiologist looked at my xrays again and saw something suspect and they called me back in. They first did a CT scan which confirmed their suspicion and then they did an MRI to properly view the extend of the damage.
The neuro surgeon said that so far everything is still in place and if I keep everything still for 6 weeks to heal properly I should make a full recovery without the need for extra correctional work to be done. There is a slight compression between C7 and T1 but so far the disk seems in tact. So please I need all the prayers possible guys, again I want to thank the Lord for keeping me safe as things could have been so much worst or Charmaine and the kids could have been with me in the car when it happened, The passenger side aparently is very badly damaged. My brother went to the place where the car is stored today and took pics, I will post then as soon as he mails them to me
At least my marbles are still intact, or at least as intact as they were before the indecent ;) This gives new meaning to the phrase "ek gaan jou nek breek"

Bennie,
