Hi All

I have been driving a Legend 35 for about 15 months now. I love it to bits and am really enjoying the new possiblities that it has opened up for my family and I. I hope to learn a lot on the forum as I know very little about bakkies and cars in general....

I have a question though and hope that someone will be able to help. I need to know more about my hilux and would like to get hold of a book that could help? Does anybody have any advice?

Welcome aboard. What specifically do you want to know?
Is it diesel or petrol?

Its a diesel.

We are planning a trip through the Kgalagadi and Namibia next year and I would like to be able to atleast repair most of the problems that may occur....I know its a Hilux and its never going to give me any grief but this a bucket list trip with my wife and I would like to make it work.

Basically, I would like to up skill myself before we tackle the 4500km trip....

I have a few other questions too but will leave them for later until I understand things a little better....

Welcome aboard Andries!

What I would suggest to you is to get hold of a user manual for your bakkie (you could google and download it if you can't get hold of a hard copy). Read through it and a lot will be explained. The Hilux Club guys in the Gauteng area are active and very helpful. They would love it if you were to join them on outings and would help you along, imparting with knowledge and 'how to' tips. Keep an eye on the "Active Topics" to see when they organise their next outing and join them.

Everyone has to start somewhere, so there's no dumb questions here -ask and we will help wherever we can. :winkx:
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

I was referring to the "User Manual" which is quite different from the "Workshop Manual". The U/M will explain what everything is and how it is supposed to utilised - the W/M explains how to effect repairs. Both are useful. :winkx:
