Big Blue - 2001 Prado VX 3.4l V6

Post by Stan_ »

Anyways so I needed another vehicle for everyday stuff.

Ended buying a low mileage (124000km) '01 Prado. It seems the vehicle was nicknamed Blue.. we're taking it to the next level, she'll be called Big Blue.

Anyways so I'm on search for :

□ Bumper Replacement
□ Underbody Protection
□ Rocksliders

I'm struggling to find the above, I'm happy to consider used bits. It seems that none of the manufacturers make equipment for such an old vehicle. This is disappointing.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Stan

Congrats on the acquisition! Awesome vehicles!

Looks like you might have to have something custom made if you cannot source in retail or 2nd hand markets.

Wow.That is super low kilo's. Mine just under 370k

Their one week point is the Lower Ball Joints. If you dont know when it was changed, then rather change it with original Toyota LBJ.
Even with the slightest play they can pop out and your wheel comes loose. Apart from that awesome Car

Thanks George, very happy with Big Blue so far.

It's like driving a Sofa! And comparing her to my daily driver GD6 2.8 extended cab.

Yup, ball joints were replaced by toyota.

Hi Stan

Try Metal Jacket Designs, Pretoria - 079 747 3556

They will have to custom make one for you.

Ironman managed to find some kit ex Stock. So I'm happy.

Bashplates Stofpad will do.

Just need to get rock sliders done but I have a plan
