Battery charge monitor

Post by hatvani »

I have 2 batteries 750 mA each parallel connected (it is a UK model Hilux and standard). I would like to install a battery charge monitor, but most go up to only 650 mA. If I understand it right the two together are 1,500mA. Any suggestions? I really don't feel like separating the 2 batteries.

Thanks.

750mA sounds like AA batteries?

Hi Tom
Do you not maybe mean 75Ah batteries ?
i.e. more or the the same physical dimensions than a regular car battery

why do you want to monitor the Amps? Why don`t you just monitor the voltage? If you want to monitor 1500Amp you will have to look at a shunt resistor that has been calibrated with a panel meter. and the only time you will use that amps is with a winch that is close to burning out. When charging you should not go higher than 70Amp. or what ever your alternator can deliver. most of the battery monitors just measures the voltage 10.8Volt is flat and 13.8Volt is fully charged
