On the 22R I averaged 4 km/l (best ever 4.5 doing 100km/h average on the open road) With the 7mge I averaged about 6.2 in town with about 40% Highway (N1 in and around PTA with traffic averaging 130 Km/h) I never measured open road only without towing, but towing my Bundu trai...

(Un)fortunately the imports are all Supra but the only real difference is the intake system (throttle body) and the Alternator. But they come without an airflow meter and a ECU or harness My original engine was a 22R (donkey) The biggest challenge was the cooling system. There were very little space...

What is the diffs between the real 4Y and the China model? The Chinese 4Y you have in your vehicles now, will those be the same as what the GWM bakkies run on? Same block but the GVM is the EFI variant of the 4Y. I see in the states the also had 22RE (22R with EFI) and 22RTE (EFI with Turbo) engine...

Re: Hilux

Thanx Bennie, I think it will be some time before I buy a play toy. I do not know if I will buy a SFA for a Toy. I think more in the line of something with a short wheelbase. Perhaps a shortened SFA Hilux suspension with a TAZZ or SWB Hilux bakkie on top. Or perhaps one of them very OLD SWB Cruiser...

Re: SFA vs IFS

Normally this SFA vs IFS topic becomes a very long discussion. It seems to me as if one can summarize it as follows: As always, it depends on what you want to use the vehicle for. If you are into the challenges various trails offer then the IFS will not work for you and you have to go for the SFA. ...

The problem might be that you will pay more for this engine than the SFA Hilux itself.

The other problem is the wiring. The amount of electronics envolved will make it a complicated transplant.
