That was really funny, because the guy with the Landy tried from all angles and with long and short run-ups, but eventually resorted to storming the dune from just this side of Malmesbury... He made it. We all cheered, and then all of a sudden this RAV4 appears and quite casually with minimal run-up...

Andy I dont know where you are going to get hold of them in Johies, Bra.. Try any good spares/pimp-my-ride shop... :D But dont get the acrylic ones, they fade and get scratched easily. Good luck and let us know if you found them.

Was dit jy? Ek het gesine daan staan 'n Hilux in die baan wat na links afdraai... hehehe Daai was nie hard nie, daai was eintlik nog stadig, die bak was vol blombakke gelaai... en mamma sou HARD geraas het as enige 1 van hulle net 'n skrapie se skade sou opdoen.

F_D I think it's a matter of you get what you pay for. I dont trust those el-cheepo tyres from the Philipines or Korea. F_D what make was the 31" s you fitted? I had 31" Kumho's A/T's on a previous Lux and they were slippery like hell in wet conditions. So much so that I sometimes engaged 4x4 in town, just to get traction. I now have 33" Goodyear MTR's on and they are brilliant.

Thanks for the feedback. It was an interesting trip. We believe that the the journey is as important as the destination, and plan our routes accordingly. We also dont mind stopping to take in the scenery. It was a bit of a whirlwind trip and a long drive for 4 days, but that's all our hectic schedul...

By all means drop the pressure to 0.6 bar, whatever you do, just dont make any sharp turns, the tyre will debead for sure, if not you will end up with sand between the tyre and the rim. Been there, done that. :)

Ek het uitgevind van die staal gasket.. dis blykbaar 'n Reinz gasket, nie 'n ten volle staal gasket nie, maar met staal inserts rondom die ports. O ja en voorskootlik duur.
