Can be the way the injector pump is adjusted, maybe giving too little or too much fuel. I saw that on a friend's KZ who had a fancy heat monitor installed. Not sure where you will get these in RSA. They are for Jeeps, but should work in your Revo as well.

Pop rivets comes loose from vibration. I often see riveted tread plates on tow bars which are loose because the rivets came loose. Then the tread plate vibrates and rub off the paint.

But yes, as you say, if you sika it it is difficult to get off again.

I got one of those units which replaces the points for the L28 in my Jeep. Found it about a year ago on Gumtree, but cannot find the ad now anymore.

Looks very professional.
Question; Why don't you just Sikaflex the tred plates after painting. It is as strong as pop rivets, if not stronger, and you have zero holes to drill.

I imported a 38/38 Retrojet for my L28 . Haven't fitted it yet, but I did get 2x extra which I now have stock at our Vredenburg store. I did not get the wire harness, the price was a bit crazy. Tumelo on the forum's KZ almost caught fire due to the roof light. I am not sure what the cause was of his problem but it did start at the roof light. Wort stripping out the roof light and start looking there.

Saw something interresting today.

How many of you knew that a VVTi has a oil filter on the head which filters the oil for the VVTi system?

This video shows it for some Toyota 4 cylinder but apparently the V6 has the same.

Ha Ha, Eric, I have considered it. If I ever have to buy a station wagon it will be a Prado 90.
I just cannot stand rattles and having all my camping stuff rattling in the back is why I still be prefer the Hilux.

mmmmm, my 1999 Hilux's brakes are always screeming. Was worst with Feredos and still there with ATE.

Maybe I should try these softies and see if it solve the screeming problem.

Depends on how loose it is. If the casing is worn much with very loose fit I doubt if loctite will hold it, the notches works better. If it is just loose with almost no play loctite will be good. I welded flat bar (angle iron will be better) on the inside of the bumper bracket underneath the chassis. This prevent the bumper bracket from moving up when you hit the tow bar on the ground. Where the ID of the bearing slides over the alu casing of the aircon, check for play there. If the bearing is stuck it tends to eat away the alu in which case the new bearing will not fit loosely. Sometimes a bit harder to press down on a high vehicle like Hilux, so what I do is I put my back against the vehicle at rear wheel and quickly lift it on the wheel arch and leave it. Has the same effect.

I placed the order for shirts, everybody up to MCW who responded are included.
I also got some extras on XL and XXL so if somebody did not give his shirt size we will see if there is something which will fit them.

Mine was stiff due to fanbelt which was not adjusted tight enough, but does not sound like you fiddled with the fanbelt.
You did not perhaps spill oil on the pulley?
Or if you did loosen the fanbelt, check that you adjusted it properly afterwards.
