With that part complete, I took an off-cut of 114 x 38 meranti rafter wood (a scrap from when I built my porch awning about 18 yrs ago .... can you believe it! :shock2: ). Sounds like a poor earth. At low revs 700rpm is too low and probably not accurate. It could be piggy-backing on the earth of the flicker lights. However the problem only started when you replaced the regulator so I would go back and check all the connections there first, also that you haven't crosse...

That's a bummer ..... That means every time you have to disconnect the battery like when working on the electricals or just disconnecting if going away for a period of time, you have to go to the agents to have it re-set.

Both seem to be suffering from same problem... on pull away, the engine just wants to stall. Now i know it's not me being a learner driver. This seems to be a common thing with the Yaris, Corrolla and Rav of that era. Don't think that cleaning the MAF will make any difference ... it didn't for me. ...

You're going to need a serious compressor to do two tyres at a time, something a lot bigger, more bulky and more pricey than what is normally used. I would rather direct the resources towards a decent double piston unit of a reputable brand that will last and serve you better over time.

Not really necessary .... workshops won't bother with that. However there is possibly some small merit in doing so IRO minimising incremental wear over time. Your positions are going to have to be accurate to relocate 32 splines in the same position though.

The thicker the wire the more heat it draws so on thinner material it doesn't always make sense to reduce the wire size, however with thinner wire you can reduce the welding amps and reduce the heat that way and get a better penetration and flow. For what my opinion may be worth, I would just stick to TIG. The whole wire feed thing can be a hassle IMO .... yes nice in many instances but with TIG one can feed as much as needed ... you can just flow existing metal together or add without having to constantly adjust or switch off wire feed rate...

Overlooking the expense, portal axles would be the best option but for the front you would probably have to do a SAS (Solid Axle Swop) if they don't make a portal for the independent front suspension. Yup, agree. There is nothing on the clutch plate that will cause a squeak, .... maybe the pressure plate but even that is a long stretch.
