JJ, I had the tie rods on my 2.7 replaced here in Windhoek recently; the stealers wanted a mere 400 something for both sides. Did not bother to check with any of the scrap yards or "pirate bays".

Not sure about the prices, (would guess the 2.7 can go for anything up to R 100 000?) but at that speed he should manage 12 to 13l/100km or between 7.8 to 8.5 km/l on standard tires and without roof rack and/or roof top tent.

I used M10 bolts and cap nuts, that way there are no sharp bolt ends for you to snag your hands on. A couple of spring washers and some Loctite stop it coming undone by accident. Don't know if the 2.7 is the same as the SFA, but check the fuse box under the driver's side kick-panel. Also check the wires at the fuse-box by wiggling them and see if the connection is broken when you do so. If it's not there, it's probably under the centre console in the dash where the feed spl...
