It is best to leave the standard wiring standard yes!
Nowadays wire is not sold as 6mm or 4mm it is sold in "mm²"
The size you are looking for that you later use to charge batteries with is 16mm²

Does your Prado have a load sensing valve on the rear diff? It is a rod that is connected to the diff and to a valve on the side of the chassis. It reacts to load. The heavier you load the vehicle the more brake pressure it allows to the rear brakes. It could be stuck or have been set up wrong or be...

Rubber is crap yes, but it is softer and depending the aplication there is still place for it. Fit those poly bushes to a 105 series cruiser and you crack the diff mountings due to lack of flexibility. Some hard lessons learnt in that case and poly definitly not a replacement in that specific case. ...

Duane, if you want to do Cape to Cairo then you will only have the speed problem while in SA. 90kph in the rest of Africa can be a bit too fast sometimes. Your 2.4 will be perfectly suited to the conditions and you wont complain then.
Also if you want to travel afrika then keeping it stock is best.
