Weak rear brakes on SFA

I have a 2.4 1996 SFA in which I transplanted a 2.7i engine which has been a great improvement and well worth the money, however now that I have more power I've been towing a camping trailer around and i am happy with the power but the stopping is not good enough. Apart from changing the axle on the...

Re: SFA door hinges

Thanks for all the good advice, I have already bought some Spanaard silicone and it worked like a treat. No doubt I will have to face the inevitable and replace the hinges or do the mod on the pin. It looks like one must remove the fender to get to the front hinge bolts, is this the case or is there...

SFA door hinges

I'm looking for some of the forum wisdom again, my 96 SFA driver side door creaks terribly while I drive, even on tar and i suspect it's the door hinges becuase if I try and lift the door from the bottom while open I get some movement also if I open the door when it's moaning and groaning all is qui...

SFA door alignment

On my 1996 SFA D/C I notice that the doors do not align smoothly at the rear edge, leaving a step between the front door and the rear door outside surface that creates a wind noise when drivig at highway speeds. The front door is about 5mm raised above the rear door, halfway down the door surface. A...

Re: Removing a blade from OME front suspension

Hi All i read this thread with interest as I suspect a problem with either my steering geometry or my front suspension - my blades are also negatively arched which might be because of the saddles as mentioned here but what worries me more is the bakkie wanders terribly on the road. hi henk I have the same problem with my long range extra tank fitted and the problem was the fuel leaking on the main tank vent pipe. The reason is that in my case the second tank is installed higher up than the original tank and the fuel is constanly flowing into the original tank and even up the b...

Re: Please help with 2.4 to 2.7i conversion

Castos I firmly believe, of course I haven't driven any of the other popular conversions, that this 2.7 conversion makes the SFA a very useable bakkie in both road and off road conditions. I actually prefer driving my bakkie to my 2.5 tdi T4 combi as an every day vehicle. I still have one niglling p...

Re: Please help with 2.4 to 2.7i conversion

Also some of the wiring was so tight that it broke the resistors. I will...
