Re: Prado VX Diesel 2011
Thanks Knuppel for the feedback. According to Toyota they don't have any for the Hilux's or Prado's. Guess the parts guy didn't check or offer the Hilux cause then he would've said its different part numbers. So spoke to APS, they said they see this all the time, apparently it is caused by the diese...

Prado VX Diesel 2011
Hi All Picked up a Prado VX diesel on the weekend, it has a slight problem while cruising every now and then, where it has a slight stutter under light throttle, if I press the accelerator slightly harder it goes away. The previous owner did take in to Toyota(George) to sort out the problem but they...

Ah ok so no retensioning even if adding another leaf, just add the leaf.
Doing it myself is not the issue, got a complete mechanical engineering workshop, time is the issue.
Thanks for the advice and clearing up the misconceptions I had!

Right so where is Mikem based? 4xLux does the same/similar mod, but just adds a leaf with out retensioning the springs. Re: Saggy bum (SFA)
Spoke to Saayman spring works and they recommend adding an additional leaf. The guy said he had seen this problem on many OME springs/leaf sets. Quoted R7000 to do the whole lot including retensioning the old springs. Don't know if this is a decent price.

Saggy bum (SFA)
This seems to be a common problem with SFA's, that the rear starts drooping because of the leaf springs. I have a 1998 SFA LTD which has OME suspension. Bought it with the suspension already on so cant say how old it is. After a little research I have seen people do a "Zuk" mod, basically ...

I know my 2.7 Vigo hits the rev limiter at around 200km/h(on the clocks) in 5th. Had the limiter on my Lumina moved to 500km/h, this is done via the ECU, obviously can't do that speed but let's just say she is good for 300km/h. Looked at having my 2.7 tuned and they can't do it via the ECU and have ...

Nitrous does work when done properly with a proper controller and preferably linked to the ECU to pick up WOT. It's these badly done installations or user error that puts pistons through the block. With that said only a certain shot of nitrous can be used on stock internals because the 75kw+ (or mor...
