I wanted to buy the toughest machine known to man to tour the toughest continent known to man so I googled "Hilux 4x4 for sale". I found the classifieds section on this forum, found the machine advertised, flew down to Cape Town and drove her home to Jo'burg.

I am sure this is too late and you have made your decision already. However. I have a 22R, Love it. It is a really solid motor. So I would definitely recommend it. That being said, the diesel could potentially save you fuel and work better on the farm at low speeds. The petrol will be better everywh...

Hi Johan, I agree, a 2.0L engine is definitely not going to be strong enough. However, as far as I can tell, the engine I am referring to is the 2.4 litre 2AZ-FE engine which is a 4 cylinder in-line 16 valve double overhead cam design with VVT-i and as far as I can tell it is a petrol engine that wa...
