Andy, Yes, we build these toys for a living. The 4Runner I've had since 1996 (1991 model). It has almost 500 000 km on the clock and still just drives better by the day. The suspension is our own design, by incorporating various different components to work in unison. The front shocks are Fox Racing...

No George, At present, with all the mods to the braking system as I explained above, I have no pressing need for disc brakes at the rear. I forgot about the second brake pipe on the lspv! We normally remove it all together, when doing rear disc brake conversions. Re: Troubles on my SFA's brakes
Hi George, Lets face it, the SFA Hilux never had good brakes, period! If you had checked and you get equal flow from the bleed nipples on the two front calipers and also on the 2 rear cylinders, we know that it is not a supply problem ie the master cylinder is OK. There might be more pressure...

Hi Deon, Sounds like your pump is cavitating. Jack up the front of the car and while checking the fluid level in the reservoir, with the car running, turn your steering slowly from side to side, holding it against the steering stops for 2-3 seconds every time. This should bleed the system. If you ha...

Re: Socket size?
You need a 54mm socket. Remove your free wheel hub dial, remove the snapring on the sideshaft, use a brass punch, after the nuts have been removed from the hub body, and rap the studs on the ends to get the taper lock washers to jump out - do not hit the body of the hub! Remove the hub body, loosen ...

Hi Ewin,
As far as I can recall, there are two different ecu's. The one has 3 plugs at the back, and the one I have has 4 plugs. Also my computer needs the ignition key, transponder and immobiliser to make it function.
I hope this helps.

Tristan The fact is that it doesn't matter who actually manufactures the shock, what matters is who designs it and in this case OME has dedicated engineers that only design shocks for 4x4 use. Werner, I think you have what is called "The Death Wobble". I had the same problem with my 4Runner after the SAS. This is caused by too little positive caster. Caster is the degree at which your steering axis is tilted rearwards which enables your steering to track straight and return to c...
