Sorry two questions in one.i would like to do a similar system like yours.

Re: Battery drain problem finally sorted
How did you measure this current of 300 to 400 mA? i think I may have a similar problem , regarding battery drain. A colleague of mine had found this write-up somewhere. It proved to be most helpful! Thank you for the write-up. I used it tonight and found my NL intelligent solenoid was the culprit....

Re: Battery drain problem finally sorted
Can't remember if I had ever mentioned it, but my Bullnose's Battery wouldn't last more than three days with out being charged or driven in between. Had narrowed the bad circuit down to the "dome" circuit/fuse by checking the amps drawn in each of them. Due to the rather time consuming jo...

Re: Negative battery Pole when Charging
The Hilux manual as well as the owner booklet says disconnect but it is a pain in the butt. My bakkie stands most of the time and the cranking battery and the deep cycle are usually close to 12V after about two weeks and I then need to charge using a battery charger. Is this drop in voltage normal o...

Negative battery Pole when Charging
Is it really necessary to disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal before connecting a battery charger?

Re: Hilux Radio
I checked today and it is good news. You can play both as it sees the YT-M06 as a CD shuttle .

Re: Hilux Radio
I installed the YT-M06 on my radio and it works! It simply plugs into the back of the standard radio. Very simple installation. I had myself all prepped for a big job, with rewiring and stuff, but thankfully not necessary. :celebrate: I had a bit of trouble getting the USB flash drive and SD card to...

Shox box looks interesting. You would still have this loose appendage possibly bouncing around.

Re: Hilux Radio
This is what I use, not the greatest, but gets the job done! (R100!) Cigarette lighter FM Transmitter, has USB, SD Card and Line-In capabilities, comes with remote control. Stuart I have one of these but the sound quality sucks. Jaco Het jy so een ingesit. (Digital Music Changer - YT-M06). My radio...

Thanks Gents
I don't necessarily want the navigation (I have a Garmin) but it looks like one has no option?
I just want a radio that has the ability to play music through both an aux port and a USB port.

Hilux Radio
:wth: From reading up the forum it would seem that the only way to be able to play an ipod and usb equipment on my Hilux (2011) would be to replace the whole old fashioned standard radio? How could Toyota not incorporate these ports in the first place? Any old radio has had these ports for many year...

Re: Anti Rust unit/Rust stop unit
I emembered reading about that in a magazine recently and just found it.
The September drive out magazine did an installation.
The company who supplied it is Opposite Lock 0118033373.
Not cheap though.

Moer, I have been trying for 2 hours and can't get an image onto my signature. I uploaded photos to photobucket, right clicked, copy shortcut, pasted between brackets and get this: It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. What now? Also how does one include these Smilies in your...

Re: Fuel Tank Frustration
I finally fixed my problem after a groot vloek. On the weekend I removed the offending sieve. It looks like the bottom plastic part of a jerry can filler attachment that broke off and fell into the diesel tank filler neck. That is why my own plastic extension is pop riveted to the attachment to prev...

Re: Fuel Tank Frustration
No I dont think a long range tank was ever fitted. I did phone my local Toyota dealer about it but the guy I spoke to did not know what I was talking about so I guess the sieve was a retrofit.

Re: Fuel Tank Frustration
I finally dropped my diesel tank and could find nothing wrong. I then checked inside the filler neck (pipe) and found a brass or copper sieve in the neck. Obviosly put there to prevent the siphoning out of diesel. Now I need to figure out how to strip out the filler neck so that I can remove the sie...

Fuel Tank Frustration
It takes about 20 minutes to fill up with diesel on my D4D.
The nozzle on the fuel hose will not lock and so the fuel has to be leaked into the tank very slowly.
I have tried to get to the breather but cant as one would need to drop the tank.
Surely this is not normal?
Thanks
