This is exactly why I fit inline filters at both of Olive's tanks prior to the surge tank ... costs nothing and I change them out every 5K kms.If I ever decide to go internal pump on the main tank I will also fit a magnet.

We just replaced the thermostat, which got stuck in a slightly open position just outside of Calvinia coming back from Kgalagadi in 45 deg temps towing my Metalian Midi.Olive now has 48 000 kms on the clock since the restoration.

A 2UZ out of the states will never have as little kms on the clock as the motors out of Japan.
So is the little extra kw and Nm from the 3UZ worth almost double the price of the 1UZ VVTi ...

My 2UZ viscous fan with BJ42 OEM shroud and 30 year old OEM radiator was fine until it sprung a leak. Then I got one of these and now it is even better ..

Why don't you import the vehicle into ZA and sell it like that as opposed to "breaking it up", if you know what I mean.As a returning citizen, you should be allowed to import it into ZA if I recall correctly.

Are you running the Lexus auto box ? .. it goes into reverse and does the reverse thing, but forward, it doesn't go. it feels like the engine is not ready yet to move and something is telling it to keep idling until temperature or whatever is at it's correct setting for driving. ................... ...

Most/all FPRs that I have seen, had their returns to the tank/surge tank at the bottom and the inlet on the side but I suppose yours could be different - the manual should be very clear on that so check your manual first ? As far as the tacho is concerned, I suspect it relates to the 4 cyl signal vs...

Not sure if space in the Hiluxes is a problem but the nice thing with the VVTI is the OEM viscous fan than can be used.Couple it with a decent radiator and a proper fan-shroud and you will never have a problem ! The one in Olive will suck most type of dogs and small children through the radiator ! :...
