Exhaust is n baie pesoonlikke ding. Waarvan jy hou of nie. Ek hou glad nie van die bler van n dubbel pyp sisteem nie. My sisteem gaan 2 1/4 duim pyp net na die manifolds wees to waar hulle kan bymekaar kom agter die transfer case. Van daar af een 3 duim pyp met seker twee silencers in.

Older 1UZ may have cast iron manifold, but my 3UZ manifolds are fabricated tube. Probably some sort of stainless material. So can be welded. I will be using TIG welding with 316 filler.

I was thinking exactly the same thing Reinart.
There is no reason I can see why you cannot bolt the viscous coupling and fan to that idler pulley.

Sounds to me like the wastegate isn't working properly.
Check if they didn't perhaps remove or damage the small hose to the actuator when they did the service.

Is it just the handbrake or the footbrake as well?
With that suspension lift you have to re-adjust the brake proportioning valve.
You may have to modify the links slightly to get the correct setting.

Yip I also went to Darrell for my 2.7's suspension.
Got the Bilstein shocks and small lift with new springs and torsion bars. Very happy with it.
Just check the steering damper as well while you are at it.

All the oil does not come out of an auto box when you just drain it. A lot of it is also left in the box and torque converter. There is a procedure to pump it out. The dealers should have a machine to change the oil.

On my single cab there are two diagonal supports under the load bin. I'm not sure if the double cab also has them.
You also need to add a spacer under these. Otherwise the bin may get damaged with a heavy load.

What is the standard diff ratio and tire diameter/circumference? At what RPM do you normally change gears?
If I have that I can calculate the ideal replacement diff for 35”s. You may not be able to get exactly the same but it will give you a good enough idea.

You can do a crude compression test yourself. Remove three of the four sparkplugs then turn the motor over a few times on the starter. Start with one on the cylinders that you know is good. It sounds like you have eliminated any problems on the HT side.

I agree. These hooks are rated and probably stronger than some home made recovery points. The problem with this design though is that IF the bolts should fail, there is nothing attaching the hook to the strap or cable. Ive already baught a 3UZ and may have found a suitable 2.5 D4D.
Does the 2.5 D4D use the same R151F gearbox and diffs as the 3.0 D4D?

I think Toyota has identified it as a problem on the earlier models.
My 1999 IFS has a non-return spring plate fitted. This means that the adjuster can only be tightened easily. To loosen it is a pain in the backside!
Donkey has a good idea! A drop of blue Locktite should do the trick.

Yes Gates is one of the better brands. They also supply OEM.
As long as it’s not a copy from China! They counterfeit everything theses days.

Hello Stephan I doubt if the injectors would get damaged like that. They are quite robust as long as needle or pintle is not bent or damaged. It is a good idea to have them cleaned and tested in any case seeing as they are used and you don’t know their history. The o-rings can be re-used if still in...

I know it has been said before: Please be extremely careful when using kinetic ropes!
We recently had an accident at work involving a kinetic type rope. It is frightening how much energy they absorb.
