Thys, look at my first post of this thread, yes, those dunes are indeed seriously cross-axled. I was on some occasions feeling quite sorry for my 4x4's upgraded suspension...but the experience is nevertheless worth it, at least in my opinion.

Irfaan, there are only one or maybe two dunes which requires a fair amount of speed to conquer. I believe you should make it, you will just have to start a little bit further back with your run-up. We all failed to get up one or other dune but we never got stuck, we just reversed and tried it again....

Hi Irfaan. We did the Nossob Trail in April 2012. Great fun but not really a 4x4 challenge, (after all it is a Eco trail) you just have to put "voet in die hoek" to get up some dunes due to the very bad axle twisters on some dunes...make sure you tie everything securely in your 4x4 and on ...

Duelers A/T tyres are good on the tarmac and gravel but, in my experience, not meant for rock crawling, the side walls are way too soft.

I drive occassionaly in the night on the terible Brits - Thabazimbi road.(which I know is not advisable :banned: ). I need extra light power to see the potholes and potential koedoes, accordingly I assume spotlights instead of floodlights will be preferrable. Also, I will need to dim the lights alot...

That Wedgetail camper is one of the best I have seen (not that I am expert alu canopy camper, but I have seen a few at the Beeld Holiday show and nothing compared to the Wedgetail...in my lay opinion)
