I want to build a new rear bumper/tow bar for my lux.

i've always wondered about the practicality of a rooftop tent? It's relatively safer from the bugs and reptiles on the ground, and probably dryer as well, but you pretty much stuck there for the duration of the camp? When I go camping I need to be mobile, working the fishing spots in the area. RTT ...

What if you put a bolt with a plate at the bottom and nut on top. You could use a differint size nut than the normal sparewheel holder , or build your own mechanism that works like the one on the bottom of the bakkie

ok engine in and running went on our first trip and realy feels good , the one injectors needs a clean and service. got 5.9km/liter towing camping trailer. Another sfa also towing a trailer got 6.2. So I am happy so far with 5.9 with dirty/faulty injectors. Could feel the that the efi motor had more...

gw motor is in. new problems , the ecu that came with the motor is stuffed. starts and then dies , we changed it with another gwm ecu and it starts and idles. where will i find a ecu , looked all over at the local scrapyards nobody has got? get tit efi'd 10 - 12k?
witch is alot more than what this gwm motor is gonna cost me.
if i get more $ i will TRY and get a toyota 4y - seeing i will already have the efi ?

Why not have your 4Y rebuilt, or is it already a ching chong knock off? Then you can just EFi it! I rebuilt my 4Y myself, it cost around 4.5K to do the job 100% properly... that motor was sweet till the day I sold the bakkie! yea 4Y thats why you sold it. i know how you feel if i had a boring motor...

no keeping my 33's
had no problems with the normal 4y , so it will not be a problem with the efi motor

started this new thread seeing my other thread name was (v6) and im no longer doing the v6 conversion.

old 4y out - Done
collected gwm 4y efi - Done

to redo motor and get parts for efi will cost allot more they are giving me 5000 for my motor and i have to pay in 3500 for the complete motor with efi

ok changed my mind , decided to go for 4y efi ( gwm motor with complete box etc...) after thinking and thinking and thinking my reasons for not installing the v6 - 1 - to much can go wrong in my opinion 2 -this is not going to be a drag bakkie , weekender ...... occasional week trips dont realy nee...

Jammer vir di laat reply Jonathan. Ek het onlangs n nek operasie gehad en toe is my rekenaar ook nog mal agterna. Dit het my R33 000 gekos. Dit was nou met oorspronklike ECU en die enjin het maar +/- 130 000 km op gehad. dankie renaldo sterkte met die nek gaan verseker lekker loop met daai 2.7i sou...

ok then decided to sell the original 4y and use the cash to get the bellhousing and re-do the v6. Anybody have an idea what its going to cost me to re con the v6? +- our mechanic that works on our fleet will be doing the conversion and will not charge me labour , so the above prices would be spares ...
