I built a Browns gas generator and ran my KZTE on it for some time. There was a slight fuel consumption improvement but it is not worth the effort. It requires a lot of maintenance and TLC. And remember it is an explosive dangerous gas in the engine bay.

Remove the pump and replace the O-ring. Very simple to do. Buy the O-ring from any shop that sells seals etc. I paid R4 for the O-ring and problem solved. It is just a miserable job to take the pump out and to put it back. Pity I did not know about the Pro-long fix!

Try white vinegar. It cleaned my radiator perfectly. Leave it in for about 24 hrs and shake it if possible. Does the job well.

I spoke to the stealers this morning and the one salesman said that the Hiluxes (GD6) after 2015 have a standard front diff lock. I have the HDM 270 deg awning. VERY good quality made from stainless steel. Stands up to strong winds and opens up in 15 sec. Will recommend it any day. I don't know how to add the photo otherwise I would!

Pod rooftop tents were taken over by Summit trailers and is discontinued to my disappointment! I paid a visit to the factory in Watloo today. The Pod is replaced by the RTT with the Al cover.

Ctek 250S Dual
I have a CTec 250S dual in my bakkie as a dual battery system. I can connect a solar panel to the Ctec which is no problem. Can I connect 2 solar panels to the Ctek terminals - it has different power deliveries. The one is 75 Watt and the other is 100 Watt. I will appreciate your comments

We add 1 liter of petrol to our bakkie's diesel tank in winter to increase the combustion. It works very well and we have been doing it for many years very successfully. Try it, you may be pleasantly surprised! It stopped the gelling as well.

Mine did this - I fitted grease nipples on the front steering joints and all possible suspension joints and greased it. Gone was the squeaks!

Brilliant article indeed. I took my Coopers off after only 8000 kms due to block separation and fitted the Scorpions. I'm very happy with the Pirellis - much less road noise and no more flats as with the Coopers..

As julle wil hê julle kompressors moet lank hou - strip hulle, verwyder al die ou olie en ghries en smeer hulle met sintetiese olie en ghries. Dit maak die verskil tussen 'n kompressor wat hou en een wat oorverhit. Dis net die swak smeermiddels wat hulle gebruik in die kompressors wat hulle laat uit...
