I have a similar set up and while lining up to drill, I noticed that there is a hole near the top of the tail light, that allows the cable through without drilling. Really like that box you built. Nice work. I'm armed with duct tape and super glue,...

Hilux Suspension Choices

I am reaching the point of shock absorber replacement. My dilemma is that my vehicle has performed well for 85000km on the standard shocks, barring it having a very hard rear end. This hard rear end equates to shocking gravel road handling, particularly when empty. So, what to do? OME R16k, EFS R15....

Stiffness of Hilux D/C Suspension

I have had my Hilux for about four months now and am finding the ride extremely hard. Granted I have moved from a full house OME supensioned Isuzu Frontier which is recognised as being a "comfy" ride even in its standard format. I am considering a suspension change with the view to softeni...

Re: How to CORRECTLY fold and Echo 3 trailer tent - help ple

Theunis I've had mine for 5 odd years now and I'm not sure there's a right or a wrong way. It is very dependent on whether you leave your awnings in place and also how many sidewalls you leave attached. What I do is fill the lower spaces with things like the towel rack, the ground sheet and this all...

Better Late than Never

After a long relationship (235 000km) with an Isuzu Frontier which I really enjoyed, the time came for a change. So then came the choices which eventually settled at Fortuner or Hilux. Having had an SUV for 8 years I decided to go for a Bakkie, not just an ordinary Bakkie a Toyota Hilux 3,0 D4D 4x4 ...
