Seems to be a hit and miss affair.
I always thought Exedy clutch is the best in the business but higher up in this thread there is someone who had it replaced.

Just for interest I drive like a tool at times and I'm on 230k km with my original clutch. This includes many times where I got stuck in sand and I used the slip the clutch to get refs up to get unstuck.

The problem is on high km the bores on these engines go out of round, becoming ovall.
See if you can get a clean one from an engine import place.
Swop over the carburetors and go.
The import 2e engines come with LP gas carburetors on most of the clean ones.

I am still wondering if its possible that Supa Quik installed the disks and pads the first time incorrectly, which could have caused them to constantly brush the pads? The black wire needs to be at least as big as the red wire.

I also have two pieces ofb38x50mm pine plank screwed together the car.

With the first "facelift" in 2009 the Hilux came out with the 2005 Fortuner 16"mags and larger brake discs and calipers in front. Not all the models got this bigger brakes up front like the SRX models. An easy way to check is the Powerbrake website: http://www.powerbrake.co.za/categor...

As for the replacement my clutch idler bearing started to make a noise at 100 000km. I always said I'll leave it until I replace the clutch. I'm now on 200 000km and it's still going

My guess would be that you are on the money when you suggest idler pulley bearing. It may feel OK but doesn't mean that it is. Sometimes these sealed bearings start to run "dry" as the grease inside hardens with age and heat. You could try getting some W40 to seep in there and see if it m...

On the normal LM327 based OBD scanners you can only access a few parameters.
For diagnostic purposes rather get the Toyota techstream software and cable

No . You cant even do a straight swop between a 2009 and 2010 1kd Hiluxes as the injector drivers were changed. If you can get all the ECU yes or you have to use the original injectors

Really impossible to say with the information at hand.
Personally I would find it hard to pay more than book value. Even with extras fitted.
Older cars like SFA Hiluxes easily fetch way over book value but I dont think the Vigo are there yet.

I know of a few D4d where the fuel gauge gets stuck before empty. Fix is to replace the instrument cluster.
