Re: Spitronics fitment to a Lexus v8
The handbrake definitely exists, it exits the firewall and just about touches the back of the engine. The intake manifold has been flipped around to that the battery stays in the original location and eliminates the need for long ducting to get to the air filter....

My 2c regarding the timing. The only time your bakkie was dyno'd was in Durban. One would assume that sea level is sea level and that the MAP sensor could compensate accordingly but it is possible that the sensor and vacuum maps need recalibration (another dyno). I suspect that when we take it for a...

IMHO the bumpstop should be set so as to stop the spring from arching overly negatively. I suppose for maximum longevity the springs shouldn't bend into negative arch at all, but that'd be no fun! Other than that, if you're not running into interference with engine sumps, steering arms or wheel arch...

100 degrees is quite normal for coolant temperature, the addition of antifreeze and the system being under pressure will prevent it from boiling. It does depend on where you were measuring the water temp though, before or after the radiator for example. 100 degrees at idle with a fixed fan (as you h...

Yes the steering shaft has to lengthened. Same as when you do a body lift. Loosen fitting on splined section, pull out to the length you need, re-tighten the fitting. If necessary remove it completely and weld in a section of steel rod. Protection is better on top but its a more costly conversion. T...

Its best to move it as far forward as you can, otherwise you run the risk of the 2 rods contacting under compression. Another good plan is to plate the frame. The chassis has little lateral strength and tends to crack over time. One thing in particular to check is your oil pan clearance. There needs...
