Ok i phoned springbok tourism dep., and i can confirm the permits cost R150 per vehicle per section.. so this means the permits will cost R300 per vehicle for the whole trip..

1st section Pella to Vioolsdrift - R150
2nd section Vioolsdrift to Alexanderbay - R150

Hi wel in my opinion...Yes... you can still have a chip put in,(a HILUX only gets "run in" at 200k) but as a preventitive measure i would suggest that you have your injecters and turbo checked before hand..and if you do chip your lady, let them tune her more to the torque range rather than...

Hi...wel this is a tricky question.. yes the chip gives you more power, thats why you get beter fuel consumption (if drivin normally) but that said.. (when you have more power you tend to drive it a bit harder...) so you dont really get better fuel consumption.. im guilty in that respect.. :blushing...
