Hi guys. Been a while. Everybody still good?
Question: Has anyone fitted a 1GR-FE to a SFA and is it even possible?

Re: 3Y or 4Y Turbo

Re: 3Y or 4Y Turbo
As ek 4Y gaan, dan g...

3Y or 4Y Turbo
Middag almal.

Re: Carb and driveshaft
Think that is a good place to start. Guess I can't complain since it is still the factory shaft and has already done 227 000km. Thanks Family_Dog. Will see if I can source the jet sizes for the carb and then share it with the Hilux family here, incase someone needs it.

Re: Carb and driveshaft
Hi Family_Dog.
Thanks for the reply. My issue is with the rear prop. As far as I know the prop should be as close as possible to a straight line. My prop from the center bearing to the diff is at quite an angle. Do you think if I drop down the bearing it would make a difference?

Carb and driveshaft
Dag almal.

Re: Future modifications
Thanks Legend. Had a look and I have the import diff. So it is ARB or electronic lockers. I had a look at the budget build videos JohanM, and it is quite impressive what that Lux is capable of with 29's and no suspension mods. I have to admit I am very intrigued by the lockers they fitted. Almost li...

Re: Future modifications
Thanks for the input guys. How do I see if I have a local or import diff? I agree with the carb performance, I have the original Nikki on and on one trip with about 500kg on the back at 110km/h I achieved 8.1km/lt. But you recommend EFi for smoother driving and slightly better response/performance? ...

Future modifications
Hi guys Considering some future mods on my Lux. Your input will be appreciated, especially the guys who have already done it. Currently I have a standard 4Y, not really considering an engine swop. Thinking of doing EFi, dual transfer cases and link suspension front and rear. I want to create a Lux t...

Afternoon everybody. New to the club and thought I would just introduce myself. Bergskilpad is the name, slow and steady, and just as reliable as a 4Y! Ex Subaru Master Technician, so a true gear head, but with a love for the simplistic and reliable technology of the SFA Hilux. Looking forward to me...
